It’s been a week since the earthquake we had in Matsuyama.

I was surprised the news reached my family and friends in Canada.

Nothing was damaged and no one was hurt fortunately.

It was the biggest one I’ve felt since moving to Japan with an earthquake intensity of 4,

although it felt much bigger.

Long shakes lasting about 10 seconds, and all I could do was just stay put and wait it out.

Thankfully there were no big aftershocks. Knock on wood.

 

 

 

地震から1週間、大きな余震もなく安心してます。

カナダにいる家族と友人から連絡があり、とてもびっくりしました。

海外ニュースで流れるほどの大きさだったんだ。。。

日本に移住してから地震には慣れたと思っていましたが、震度４～５はさすがに怖かったです。

しかも今回の揺れは長くて、いざとなったら体が動かないものですね。。。

ジッとして待つしかできなかったー＾＾；

 

ちなみに海外では「knock on wood」と言いながら木製のものをコンコンと叩くことがあります。

「悪いことが起きませんように」というおまじないのようなものです。

今後も大きな災害がおきないように knock on woodしておきます。
